Well and Production Data Collection
Information on oil and gas wells
established on the University lands is available in our well data collection, which
includes lease number (both UT lease number and RRC lease number), well name, location,
completion records, well logs, and well documents.
Production Data by RRC lease number
are also available with search capabilities by field (zone), RRC lease, or operator.
LAS files and digitized log files we receive from the operators are available to
download via FTP, which are organized
by county number and the last 5 digits of API number within the county. To find
more well logs scanned, search Well Information
and Data.
In addition to the electronic data, we maintain an extensive, physical collection
of well information that serves the public free of charge.

Geophysical Surveys
We maintain files and maps showing the locations of all geophysical activity properly
conducted on the University lands, the approximate dates of acquisition, and the
names of the companies that conducted the surveys. This includes gravity,
magnetic, and 2-D and 3-D seismic surveys. Interpretations generated from
some surveys conducted prior to June 1973 are also available for inspection.
No raw or processed geophysical data is on file with the University lands.
