Easement
Easements across University Lands for pipelines, powerlines and other utility lines are available. The term for all easements is ten years and rentals are based on either a fixed or negotiated amount per rod according to the type of easement required. The rates are listed in the current Rate and Damage Schedule. All easements are issued as paid up leases and must be completed by University Lands staff members on The University of Texas System Board of Regents approved form.
Surface Lease
Surface leases on University Lands can be obtained for a variety of municipal and commercial purposes. Airport sites, plant sites, compressor stations, tank farms, tower sites, and business sites such as motels and office buildings, are leased either as a paid up ten-year lease or a temporary lease if requested and recommended by University Lands staff members. The rates are listed in the current Rate and Damage Schedule. All surface leases are issued as paid up leases and must be completed by University Lands staff members on The University of Texas System Board of Regents approved form.
