The activities of University Lands are comprised in the following three areas: Mineral Interests, Surface Interests, and Accounting.
Mineral Interests
The primary goal of Mineral Interests is to promote exploration, development and production of oil, gas and minerals on PUF lands. Mineral Interests also ensures that oil and gas production is assigned to the proper leases. more…
Surface Interests
Surface Interests is involved with all surface activities on the Permanent University Fund lands. These activities include the leasing of land for business sites, issuing easements for pipelines, power lines, utility lines, and ingress/egress across the University lands. Accounting
The 66th Legislature assigned accounting responsibility for PUF lands to the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, effective September 1979. In turn, the Regents created University Lands Accounting.
